feature-length animation, "Hand-Drawn: Documentary", about the future of hand-drawn animation. Her films feature never-before-seen perspectives of filmmakers, animators, and other artists. |
Associate Producer | Assistant Director
Born and raised in Osaka, Aki graduated from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver with a major in Film. After working with a Tokyo-based film distribution company, she relocated to Toronto where she took a position in the programming department for the Toronto International Film Festival.
At the same time she was organizing the Toronto Japanese Film Festival at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. In 2022, she founded Momo Films Inc., a specialized film distribution company focusing on Japanese cinema. In addition to her work in distribution and programming Aki has extensive experience working as a production coordinator and on-set interpreter for companies such as Netflix, Apple TV+, PBS, and CBC. |

Robert has previously produced and directed documentary productions including "I Dream of Wires" and "Where Cool Came From", and is currently working on two upcoming feature-length documentaries.
